This is based on the Forrest Mims stepped tone generator. It is also known as the atari punk console, so fittingly I built it into an old controller.

The larger knob controls the frequency the smaller knob controls the pulse length. The original momentary button is used but I also added a toggle switch to hold it activated as well as a red LED.

Power and signal are connected through the original 3.5 ft. wire to a standard 1/4 inch plug. An AC/DC adapter runs an additional 5ft. from the plug.
